I’m really enjoying these new pieces by French artist and adbuster OX who is currently in Bensacon, France participating of this year’s Bien Urbain Event.
Working for years with collages and a minimalistic imagery on billboards around the world, creates OX colorful urban interventions called by the artist “Affichages“.
His visual language is reflective and minimalistic: mono- and polychromatic stripes and shapes are often reminiscent of artists like Daniel Buren where architectural and color accents in the urban context are reinterpreted and posted ads are breached by reduced optical illusions or replaced by geometric compositions, always drawing its power from the friction with its urban context.
