Nelio continues his journey through Canada were he, after the wonderful “Dreamworld”, delivers a series of new pieces painted during the past week in Montreal.
As we mentioned earlier, his imagery is graffiti-rooted, aware of art history and influenced by graphic design, architecture and his own childhood memories.
Nelio sees his artwork as an unknown language and its the reason why he seems attracted to primitive art as well as alphabets and symbols from old civilisations as well as fine art and movements such as Suprematism, Cubism, Dadaism, Surrealism, De Stijl, Bauhaus, Op Art, all visible in his oeuvre.
The piece above, apparently a legal one, is a very good example of this, so is the second one beautifully painted over a train wagon. The last one is a collaboration with Vilx, Mathieu Connery aka 500m and Myshel.
