After a series of collaborations in Germany a few days ago, Nelio decided to visit Spain where, together with Spanish artist Xuan Alyfe painted a couple of pieces in Samado and Avilés (Xuan Alyfe’s home town).
Mixing geometry and figuration create these artists surreal mural landscapes where anything seems possible.
As we mentioned earlier, Nelio’s work reminds us of those great abstract painters and movements such as Suprematism, Cubism, Dadaism, Surrealism, De Stijl, Bauhaus, Op Art, all visible in his oeuvre. On the other hand we have Xuan Alyfe whose murals and installations evoke the work of great masters like Miró and to some extent, Kandinsky. His work is playful yet strongly geometric, primitive and at the same time unexpectedly whimsical. Probably it is this common interest for the primitive, the essential in form and nature, that makes these two collaborations so interesting and well balanced.
