Ernest-Zacharevic-Penang-Malaysia-1

Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic has been transforming the streets of Penang, Malaysia with a brilliant series of interactive murals.
In town for the opening of his newest solo show “Art Is Rubbish Is Art” Zacharevic  worked for several weeks on a new body of artworks, installations and a series of outdoor and indoor murals.
This is not the first time Zacharevic is in Penang and his iconic, lighthearted pieces have become enormously popular across the city, where passersby get a kick out of taking photos of themselves immersed in the scene displayed on the wall behind them.
What makes Zacharevc’s art special is the way he rethinks street art by adding 3D elements and in that way changing the 2D nature of graffiti bringing it ‘to life’.
