Dean-Hamilton

I stumbled upon the work of Canadian photographer Dean Hamilton this morning and I became fascinated by these new series he is working on that we could call “Suicide series”.
Hamilton illustrates through photography and good sense of (dark) humour a serious subject. His work is graphic and surreal, poignant and humorous, and can sometimes touch you to the bones. Loving them, all of them.

    Well hellooo! I just came across this post. Thanks for the kind words regarding that particular photo series. I put a great deal of effort into it and am really happy with how they all turned out. It was done as an homage to Dorothy Parker’s poem ‘Resume’:

    Razors pain you;
    Rivers are damp;
    Acids stain you;
    And drugs cause cramp.
    Guns aren’t lawful;
    Nooses give;
    Gas smells awful;
    You might as well live.

    Cheers, Dean
