Alexandre Farto, also known as Vhils, decided to go back to his former school in Seixal, Lisbon and sculpt this wonderful portrait of Zeca Afonso as part of a workshop where many students participated.
According to Vhils, “the portrait is from José Afonso, a great portuguese singer, poet, activist and one of the strongest voices against the right-wing dictatorship period that ended in 1974, 40 years ago.” The school was named after him.
