Cuban-American artist, Jorge Rodríguez-Gerada released this new and beautiful hand finished etching print based on his iconic Terrestrial Portrait, Out of Many.
The original work, a six-acre portrait on the National Mall in Washington DC was commissioned by The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. Titled “Out of Many, One”(the translation of E Pluribus Unum) the portrait was created out of 2,000 tons of sand, 800 tons of soil and 8 miles of string and it is so huge, that it can be viewed from space.
Visitors can experience the facescape by walking through it, from the top of the Washington Monument, while flying into and out of Washington, DC, or via images taken by satellite.

“Out of Many, One” is an embossed and hand tinted etching print on archival 285 gram Fabriano Rosaspina paper. Measures 12 inches x 39 inches / 30 centimeters x 99 centimeters and comes in a limited Edition of 200 etching prints individually numbered and signed by the artist.
