German artist SatOne was recently in Rome invited to take part of the Big City Life project curated by 999Contemporary in the neighbourhood of Tormarancia in Rome.
As usual SatOne delivers an interesting and beautiful mural based in a conceptual approach to his own understanding of the neighbourhood’s (or maybe just the Italian culture’s) distinctiveness. According to the artist the idea behind the mural is about the daily verbal and non-verbal communication between the residents / neighbours of Tormarancia, something reflected in the expressiveness, the freshness of the colour palette and the bold shapes that give form to the composition.
As we have seen before, SatOne’s art is characterised by a skilful mixture of a powerful graphic style with improvised abstract elements that open up dimensions in which graphic design, illustration and abstract art melt into an inseparable unity.
This impressive mural is just another example of this and I am pretty sure, the neighbours love it.
