Spanish artist currently based in Paris DOURONE is now in the States where he recently painted this new and eye-catching mural in collaboration with the DO ART FOUNDATION in the West Side of Los Angeles.
Titled ”Extinción” the main wall is over 15 meters high and spreads out about 30 meters over a semi-opened cube featuring the image of a modern metropolis in that cartoonish style that characterizes the rest of his work.
Extinción or extinction seems to speak about the denaturalisation of the urban landscape, when nature is almost nowhere to see anymore. Nature in this case is represented by the only tree in town highlighted by the strong colours that surround it, meanwhile the rest of the city remains in the shadows of its own grey structures.
