This new and interesting window installation is the work of French artist Florence Ema Blanchard or just EMA and was commissioned by the Millennium Gallery in Sheffield, UK.
Part of her ‘Particles’ pieces and painted on the front of the gallery using vinyl for the very first time, the piece pop-ups in an explosion of bright colours and shapes characteristic of her later work.
Originally from Montpellier, France, Ema started painting in the 90s inspired by the graffiti art movement and later moving to NY where she lived and worked for almost a decade. Since then she has worked on  mainly abstract scenes populated by illustrative figures “in a dream-like state”, but also incursioned into abstract art with very good results. Certainly an eye-catching piece.
