Italian artist SBAGLIATO, known for his illusionistic paste-ups is now in Catanzaro, Italy where he recently finished this new and interesting piece for the second edition of the ALTrove Festival.
Known for his pasted images of windows and doors in the most unexpected places suggesting a way inside an alternative reality, Sbagliato invites the viewer to take part of the work. This is the case of this new wall that titled “Terremoto” (Earthquake), an image showing a massive amount of shutter windows piled on each other covering a entire wall from top to bottom.
Even if this new mural could remind us of that iconic piece by Doris Salcedo “1550 Chairs Stacked Between Two City Buildings” from 2002, the wall works as a reminder of this region’s constant seismic activity and risk, representing the pile of shutter windows a supposedly great threat.
