Argentinian artists Pastel and Elian are currently in Barcelona for the opening of “Fallas” their new show at Montana gallery Barcelona.

“Fallas” can be translated as “defects”, its consequences and alterations and the new exhibition, consisting of a new body of work specially created for the occasion, intends to portray the premeditated or induced error in their own and particular way.
Even if Elian and Pastel are exhibiting together the pieces part of the show provide each artist’s own interpretation of what they understand for “Fallas”. On the one hand we have Elian and his studies of the organic exercise of drawing a line by hand, the fluidity of gesture and analysing what happens when a rupture is generated in that area? Has our brain the capacity to adjust to this gap? Elian’s work are in this way essays on eyestrain and mechanisms of contemplation. On the other hand Pastel’s work explores through indigenous flora and weapons, symbols of the tragic, idyllic and ephemeral that characterises modern social structures and the sometimes destructive nature of man.

The exhibition opens today and will run until June 26 at the gallery located on Comerç 6, 08003 Barcelona (El Born).
