Zedz-Turin-Livio-Ninni-1

Here an amazing new mural by Dutch artist Zedz painted in occasion of Tokyo to Torino his latest exhibition at Square23 Gallery in Turin, Italy.
Drawing his inspiration from the 80s graffiti scene in which he grew up and later his studies at Gerrit Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam reworking his typography into three-dimensional abstract compositions breaking in this way down the borders in the matter of design, lettering and graffiti and even adding an architectural aspect to his work, being this last mural painted on the walls of the Teatro Colosseo a good example of this.

Tokyo to Torino represents a snapshot of Zedz current state of research being the title of the show an explicit homage to his two “summer houses”: Japan and Italy. Through his visual “studies”, as the artist choose to call them, Zedz challenges the viewer by defining a world where lines and planes in multiple dimensions give shape to volumes that intertwine and overlap each other generating transparencies and interesting perspective effects. Check out the images below.

Tokyo to Torino runs until September 20 at the gallery located on via San Massimo 45, Turin, Italy.
