2501 continues his journey through the US and is now in Chicago where he recently finished this new mural curated by Vertical Gallery and the Wabash Arts Corridor.
As mentioned earlier Glimpse Of America is a journey taking place from June 15 to July 24 and going through cities like Miami, New Orléans, Atlanta, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Rochester, Detroit, Chicago, Las Vegas as well as many National Parks and deserts.
According to the guys behind the project, the idea is to research for new forms of representation and space-time analytical tools in order to understand, show and document the relationship between the collective space and the life that flows through them.
At the same time, and given the ephemeral character of street art, murals have become (in most cases) experiences rather than an objects. They don’t last long and they often represent the surrounding and culture they were created for.
‘Almost Full’ is both connected and the antithesis of ‘Almost Empty’ his last mural in Detroit. Instead of the irregular shapes we found in Detroit, we are here confronted with regular shapes in a balanced composition against a saturated red background that in many ways matches the building on the left, playing in this way with the surrounding area and architecture.
