donkey-documents-banksy

On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, Julien’s Auctions will host its annual Street Art auction in Beverly Hills featuring the sale of two murals by Banksy; “Donkey Documents” and “I Remember When All This Was Trees” for an estimated price of 1 million dollars.
“Donkey Documents” (Estimate: $400,000-$600,000) was created in Bethlehem in 2007 and depicts a donkey having its identification papers checked by an armed Israeli soldier, mocking the stringent security measures enforced by the Israeli Government. The second piece “I Remember When All This Was Trees” from 2010 (Estimate: $200,000-$400,000) was painted on the wall of a derelict building at what was once the Packard automobile factory in Detroit, Michigan and features the image of a young boy holding a can of red paint and a brush after writing the readable statement lamenting the loss of nature and deforestation.
Two iconic pieces that make us question the real nature of the street art market.
