French street artist duo Ella et Pitr is now in Stavanger Norway where they spent four days working on probably the world’s largest outdoor mural to date at 20999.80m² as part of the always great NuArt Festivals which is celebrating its 15th anniversary.
The duo is known by their storybook-like illustrations and giant sleeping characters,“Lilith and Olaf” as this new street piece was titled is no exception. The piece illustrates a curled-up sleeping woman with a small and Lego-like figure dropping from her fingers. The figure is King Olaf I of Norway, who ruled the country from 995-1000. His birthplace is purportedly an islet in the lake of Frøylandsvatnet, only meters from the building itself. Certainly a giant addition to this year’s festival.
The official opening and ‘unveiling’ of“Lilith and Olaf”  is scheduled for this Friday, but is, of course, already visible from the air.Ellaetpitr-stavnger-2 Ellaetpitr-stavnger-3 Ellaetpitr-stavnger-4
