I would like to welcome the new year presenting the work of one of my favourite ‘finds’ this last season, Jesús Pereaa Madrid-born artist that has devoted most of his artistic career to graphic design, illustration and abstraction.
Born in 1971 and awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts in Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Perea’s work seems to be predominantly abstract, specially if you have in consideration the work produced during the last years from which “Abstract Composition 648” and “Abstract Composition 593”, just to mention a few, are good examples of.
Jesús Pereas work isn’t easy to classify, but it springs out of the artist’s desire for experimentation and the search for new pictorial languages and ways of expression through geometry, space and colour.
During the last 2 years he has focused on digital compositions, where he can investigate the flexibly in his own visual language, moving from abstract works to figurative illustrations, and then back to abstraction, something easy to spot looking at Jesús Perea’s website. Great pieces.
Here a small selection of his work produced between 2013 and 2015, starting by his latest addition some of them available here.
