Pioneer of European and Dutch graffiti scene, Boris Tellegen will be opening next week a new solo show at Alice Gallery in Brussel.
Titled , the reverse greek symbol Δ (DELTA), Boris Tellegen’s alias as a graffiti artist, the exhibition will showcase a series of new works inspired by the practice of graffiti, proposing a constructed universe where the gap between the real and the conceptual gives shape to a geometric style of reversed and intricate perspectives. According to the artist his work ‘investigates the tension between planning and happenstance; the semblance of order undone by schematic chaos. Mankind is driven by an unshakeable faith in progress, where modern technology and constant growth leads us to a better world. My work explores a different outcome, where the automated forces unleashed develop structures and minds of their own.’
The concept of time is also an important factor for Tellegen and is materialised in every piece in the thickness of the artwork which the artist intuitively constructs and deconstructs by adding successive layers of wood or paper cut, glued and torn, taking everything from a few hours to a month to complete.

The exhibition opens on Thursday January 21st  and will run until February 20th at the gallery located on 4 rue du pays de Liège, 1000 Brussels, Belgium.
