Giulio Vesprini is now in Terni, Italy where he recently finished this new mural for WöW an urban art project curated by the cultural association Primavere Urbana with the support of the local community.
Titled ‘Promise’ and covering the side wall of an apartment building in Piazza della Pace, a multicultural and working class neighbourhood, the new wall focuses on the meaning of the word “Archigraphia” raising questions about the relationship between nature and architecture, and the power of art in the urban landscape, creating a dialogue between these two and the community.
Vesprini’s work is characterised by a graphic matrix facing gradual deformation. Nature is incorporated into the composition to underline the fact that it will always prevail. But ‘Promises’ also features the shape of a heart , maybe the heart of the community for which the mural was intended and wants to speak for, the heart of the structure and those who live there? According to the artist there are a few remaining questions open for discussion:

‘What happens when nature takes over architectural spaces?
What happens when art meets architecture?
Can architecture express itself thanks to street art?’
