Robert_Proch_Long_gone_tattoos_Wunderkammer_1One of the most promising names of the Polish contemporary art scene, Robert Proch will be opening ‘Crossing the Line’, his first solo show in Italy at Wunderkammern gallery in Rome.
The exhibition explores concepts often present in Robert Proch’s work like the modern human condition, inaction and freedom. As expressed by the artist, we are influenced by series of factors that condition our lives and actions: everyday needs and the pressure of society transforms freedom into a utopian ideal, we often try to reach. Sometimes we manage to free ourselves from this kind of chains, sometimes not, and it is here when frustration arises, often becoming a self-destructive force. The result is a series of canvases and drawings created specifically for the show at Wunderkammern featuring imagined personalities portrayed in this specific and ambiguous state of mind. Characters that seem suspended in time and space in some kind of conceptual reflection of their own being.

Crossing the Line opens on Saturday, 16th April 2016, 7pm at the gallery located on Via Gabrio Serbelloni 124, Rome and will count with the presence of the artist. The show will be on view until June 11th 2016.
