Tranversal-Movement-LQ-1_670After a great participation in the 352Walls event in Gainesville, Florida and a quick stop in Belgium a couple of weeks ago, Elian spent a few days working on this new large-scale mural curated by Alice Cosmai and painted in occasion of Salone del Mobile in Milan.
Titled ‘Transversal Movement’ and painted entirely with acrylic paint, the new piece covers the entire front façade of an old factory located om the river side of Milan.
According to the artist, he had to deal not only with the size of the wall, but also the many windows that covered the façade. His intention was to create a natural flow of shapes and colours that while intersecting each other made the underlying structure ‘disappear’.

“The main information is on both ends, leaving air space in the center of the top margin to generate a break in the building and a point of tension in the bottom of the mural.
The façade full of windows, trim and doors, function as grid to accompany the artwork to the sense of rupture.
If the wall was super flat and did not have this high level of information, the effect of the composition it would have been adverse.” Elian
