Puerto Rican muralist and illustrator Ana Marietta just finished this new mural x the Art United us project in Kiev, Ukraine.
According to Ana Marietta, she started reading about Ukraine’s political situation and decided to paint a mural that could bring some colour and calm to the city and the neighbourhood around Turhenievska street.
Ana Marietta describes the mural and the process as follows:

‘I used colourful birds inspired by the mythological Rise of the Phoenix embracing a human soul. This human figure is looking forward, making emphasis in the future, preparing all 5 senses for the days to come with strength and determination.
Walking through the streets of Kiev, I was able to witness beauty in so many ways. The architecture, the beautiful people, their kindness… I wanted to skip the language barrier and connect with people, bringing them something that could brighten their days, sending them a message of solidarity, of love. -Ana María
