Rustam QBic was recently in Italy invited to take part of the Subsidenze Street Art Festival in the historical city of Ravenna for which he painted this beautiful and symbolic mural.
Titled “Immigration”, there is no doubt that this 15m x 5m mural speaks about the current refugee situation in Europe. The mural depicts a flock of blindfolded birds travelling through a warm sky, like in a quiet sunset. Sitting on the back of one of the birds we see the image of a person holding an oval mirror, like those from fairy tales. Two hands stick out from the mirror holding a strap and riding the bird. Maybe the mirror is a way to tell us the story of a faceless traveller, people just like you and me. Beautiful work.
