Here a few images of «Chasing tigerman», Waone‘s newest mural painted for the Richmond Mural Project in Richmond, Virginia.
The mural is a continuation of Waone’s new project of line based black and white murals started a few months ago in Varkala, India and that was inspired by a visit to the German St.Ottilien abbey’s library back in October 2012 when he rediscovered the magic of engraving.
The new mural, which took eight days to complete, is based on Waone’s reflections on the nature of human consciousness. As noted by the artist, everybody chases for goals during their entire life, but not all of them do it in a voracious way, suppressing others. The image of the tiger, represents one those exceptions. On the right we find the image of a box from which a man with half of his body covered by a hat comes to represent someone’s ephemeral goal, which again produces new goals to chasing after in an apparently endless loop.
