Ten years ago in 2006 Corey Helford Gallery held its first exhibition spending the past decade at the forefront of modern contemporary art, a mix of pop surrealism, street art and other styles with figurative and narrative qualities.
Tomorrow, on Saturday, August 27th Corey Helford Gallery (CHG) will therefore celebrate a milestone with their 10thAnniversary Gala exhibition displaying new works from over 100 of the finest American and International artists throughout its new 12,000 square foot space in downtown L.A.
The exhibition has been curated by gallery owner Jan Corey Helford, and Special Projects curator Caro Buermann, marks a momentous occasion for the gallery, which has been a cornerstone of Los Angeles’ arts community for the last decade. “Opening the doors for the first time in 2006 with butterflies in our stomachs, we wondered what this would all lead to […] Ten years later, I feel that a whole new adventure is unfolding with our exciting new additions to our artist roster and our new space that allows artists plenty of space to experiment with.” – Jan Corey Helford.

The artworks featured in the 10th Anniversary Gala exhibition span many styles, media, and genres, presenting, for the first time together, new works from a selection of the gallery’s growing lineup. New Figurative, Neo-Classicists, Pop Surreal, Pop Iconic, Street and Graffiti, Eco-Pop and Fantasy Romanticists from leading figures like Marion Peck, Mary Jane Ansell, Chloe Early, Haroshi, Shag (Josh Agle), D*Face, Kinsey, Natalia Fabia, Okuda, Eric Joyner, Olivia (De Berardinis), Ray Caesar, Kazuki Takamatsu, Sage Vaughn, Nicole Gordon, Sarah Emerson, Kukula, Sylvia Ji, Herakut just to mention a few of them.
