Before heading to Lisbon, Etnik stopped by Battipaglia, Italy invited by paint a large scale mural at the newly renovated ’Istituto “Penna”
The mural, a 10 meters high by 20 meters long wall was curated by the a.DNA collective a nonprofit association active since 2010 both in Rome and in the Province of Salerno with “URBAN AREA” project.
Titled “5 Solidi Platonici” and completed in less than four days, Etnik’s mural features the five elements: earth at the center of the wall, air on the left, fire and water on the right side and ether at the center top of the mural. Each of the five elements is associated to Platon’s solids, hence the title “5 Solidi Platonici”. The tetrahedron for the fire, the octahedron for the air, the icosahedron for water, the cube for earth and the dodecahedron for the ether. For the occasion, Etnik decided to experiment with a new type of overlapping figures, intersecting three-dimensional lines of the five Platonic solids with his typical geometric adaptations of natural and urban elements. Here a few images of the work.
