Since the beginning, the goal of street artist and poet Opiemme has been to bring poetry to the streets and closer to the people where words can be read and images admired, always looking for new ways to present and explore poetry.
Titled “Taurus” and part of his ongoing “Vortex” project, the new mural is inspired by the constellation of the same name and the zodiac sign of Hilary Majewski (15 May 1838), one of Lodz’ most famous architects, who happened to live in the area and shaped the historical centre of Lodz.

The mural has different connotations. The word, „blame” (in Polish „Wina”) was stenciled on the wall and later nearly erased by 300 eggs filled with paint in bright colours helped by the local community.
This was followed by a minimalist Taurus constellation by Opiemme as the erased word „Blame/Wina” was replaced by both “Destiny” and the Polish word “Możliwości” (opportunities); something that, according to the artist, fits the area, after it has been affected by intense changes at an architectural, social and cultural level.

The circle resulting from the performance represents Aldebaran, an orange giant star located about 65 light years from the Sun in the zodiac constellation of Taurus. Taurus symbolising the idea of power, re-birth, and renaissance.
