French graffiti artist Astro was recently in Florida invited to take part of this year’s Art(Re)Public project.
Inspired by artists such as Hartung, Vasarely and Mucha, this self-taught graffiti artist and member of the Parisian graffiti crew ODV, has managed to developed a unique abstract style that combines geometry, calligraphy and dynamic forms, and that exploits the subtlety power of light and shadows as well as the strength of colours and perspective, creating unimaginable depth.
The new mural, that in this case covers two facades, one of them smaller than the other, is a good example of his latest work, distorting the otherwise flat wall and creating an impressive optical illusion that sucks you in.
