Last time I heard from Argentinian artist Elian Chali aka Elian was back in February when he painted the entire facade of Ciudad Cultural KONEX in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Now he is back with “This is not make-up” painted for FESTIVAL TRAMA, an event curated by Martin Ron and Liliana Piñeiro.

The new mural was created next to a garbage dump and covers the facade of an old iron factory. According to Elian, the main idea was to respect the brick and metal work of the building, it’s textures, previous interventions and damage; not only to embellish the building by completely covering these “imperfections”. Elian describes the mural as follows:

The top contour of the construction was crucial to create the directions of the used forms. The dynamic of the morphology tries to go with the flow of the cars in this big avenue.
The artwork is characterised by having few shapes and lot of synthesis. It’s lecture takes a few seconds and the visual impact it’s giving by the cleaning of each area.
