Mohamed L’Ghacham Jerome ’68 x JIDAR – Toiles de Rue

I just go at few images from Mohamed L’Ghacham‘s last mural in Morocco painted for this years JIDAR – Toiles de Rue festival in beautiful Marrakech.

Between classical painting and contemporary photography, Mohamed L’Ghacham’s style is characterised by a realism that clearly distinguishes him from other street artists of his generation.
Originally from Morocco, this young and talented Barcelona-based painter combines his love for classical painting and his interest in street art in a subtle mix of genres, where figurative and impressionist styles meet urban art techniques and audience.

Painted in dark earth colours, the new mural depicts the image of a young boy sitting on a couch. The way the boy is dressed can remind us of a vintage image, and so does the title of the mural, Jerome ’68.
In L’Ghacham’s work, memories seem to have a special place. Oiter, L’Ghacham’s street name, enjoys creating scenes from everyday life, because he believes in the idea of capturing scenes he and his audience can identify with. I guess this new mural is a good example of that. And you? What does it mean for you?
