I recently got a few images of Domenico Tirino aka Naf–Mk‘s last mural painted in Fondi, Italy for this year’s Memorie Urbane festival.
The new mural has been titled Incipit (Origin) and is according to Naf MK a tribute to the graffiti world and its precursors, from long before the term Street Art was coined. The piece is also an homage to all those artists who during the last few decades have, one way or another, contributed to the development and spreading of this new art form around the world, transforming it into a lifestyle and a goal in itself.
As explained by the artist, Incipit, is based on a classical representation of The Annunciation, but unlike the classical painting, the mural centers the action around a Krylon spray can, an icon, relic and symbol of the years when this art revolutionised the streets being delivered by an angel to a very young Madonna.
