The Greek duo Blaqk, consisting of Greg Papagrigoriou and Chris Tzaferos  aka Simek, were in Spain a few weeks ago where they painted a new a stunning mural installation for this year’s Poliniza Dos.
The new installation was created at the Polytechnic University of Valencia as part of an exhibition organised by Juan Bautista Peiro that this year not only offered spaces within the university campus to some of the prominent names of the international scene, but also in the El Cabanyal neighborhood.
It consists of a series of panels presenting different composition that mix clean geometry and gestural , but at the same time edgy painting.
As in the rest of their pieces the duo combines graphic elements – geometric forms, geometric patterns and calligraphy – often using them as abstract decorative details in their compositions. Their compositions always adapt to the painted surface and its surroundings creating an interesting interplay of black and geometric volumes contrasted with rough, but controlled ‘brushstrokes’. Have a look at the images below and judge yourself.
