About a week ago we had the opportunity to assist to the opening of Nu Geometry, a stunning group show at San Francisco based Mirus Gallery  featuring work from acclaimed international, as well as local, contemporary artists like Chazme, Cisco Merel, Rubin415, Zest, Poesia and Proembrion just to mention some.

Nu Geometry intends to show a new approach to painting by artists who use geometric abstraction and a variety of media to mirror the complexities of the visual landscapes of contemporary society. As our capabilities of technology grows, so do our understanding of emergent, complex systems. The artists in Nu Geometry create works that explore representations of post-eculidean geometry and a metaphysical deconstruction of 3 dimensionality. In their work they fuse artistic styles of geometric abstraction, op art, and neo-futurism, with street art, architecture and design, thus illuminating a new, futuristic construction of contemporary geometric abstraction.

The participant artists are Castro Nuria Mora, Marcel Thelen, Markus Genesius, Mike Cole, Poesia, Proembrion, Rubin415, St. Monci, Xuan Chen, and Zest.

Nu Geometry runs through August 8 at the gallery located on 540 Howard Street, 3rd floor, San Francisco, CA.
