The Berlin and Hannover-based duo Quintessenz, consisting of Thomas Granseuer and Tomislav Topic had recently the opportunity to create this stunning installation for the glamorous Panorama Fair in Berlin.

The installation consists of an amazing display of hand coloured panels in a rainbow of red and blue tones. The piece hangs at the center of one of the fair’s main rooms, immediately becoming a focal point.

Starting out as students at the University of applied Science and Arts in Hildesheim, this incredible artist duo developed a unique an unmistakable signature style working with different types of mediums combining painting, moving image and installation.

Along with a close study of colour, space is the fundamental source of inspiration. Their work uses, not only shapes and patterns found in architecture, but it also interacts with its environment, changing in this way the way viewers perceive the work and the surrounding space in which they are placed. Colour becomes essential, being not just shapes, but also the content itself. Judge by yourself.
