“An affective bond” is the title of this stunning mural by Argentinian illustrator and muralist Tamara Djurovic better known in the Street Art world as HYURO.

The mural was painted for Nuart Aberdeen whose concept this year is  ‘A Revolution of the Ordinary’, and where HYURO’s mural comes to commemorate the conflict and Union of Scotland and England, two countries that share a border and joined to form part of the United Kingdom.
As explained by HYURO, during the first half of the eighteenth century, the Scottish people did not support the union causing tension and uprisings, a conflict that started a few centuries ago, and still lasts.

Featuring the image of two women joined together by their blouses, are shown in the midst of a fight where they try to separate. According to the artist, the image aims to transmit the relationships of conflicts and contradictions that characterize our most complex side.

About Hyuro

Tamara Djurovic, better known as HYURO, is an Argentinian painter and illustrator currently living and working in Valencia, Spain.

Her powerful compositions blend socio-politics aspects of everyday life with a distinctly surrealist sensibility. Her creative universe is based in the female figure. Her women are both mothers, caretakers and housewives, that devoid of an identity, carry the weight of the patriarchal societies and capitalistic systems that has been imposed to them.
