One of my favourite artists, Augustine Kofie teamed up with talented AiseBorn [”Ace-born”]  in order to paint this new and beautiful mural in Downtown Los Angeles.
Painted on 7th street side of the Rendon Hotel, the mural was commissioned by Ralph Ziman and Cindy of Cartwheel Art in conjunction with the Art at The Rendon project in occasion of their upcoming inaugural event HIDDEN ROOMS.
HIDDEN ROOMS, the first in the ongoing ART AT THE RENDON, pop-up event series will take place at the former Rendon Hotel (2055 E 7th Street, Los Angeles, CA) in the Downtown LA Arts District, where around 60 local artists will be creating environments and unique site-specific installations in the 45 rooms of the old hotel.
The stunning collaboration mixes Augustine Kofie’s retro-futuristic aesthetic where a distinct contrast between his mechanic line work, and organic structures in delicate earth tones, meet Aiseborn’s  sophisticated mandalas that flow in intricate circular and detailed motifs.
Regarding HIDDEN ROOMS, the first series will take place for three days starting with two private events. One on June 1, 6-11 pm and an artist reception on June 2, 6-11 pm both with limited tickets. The exhibition will be opening for public view on June 3, 11 am- 8 pm, for a suggested donation of $20. All proceeds will according to the organisers benefit Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (ICA LA) and Artshare L.A. The donation to ICA LA will benefit the museum’s learning program with Metropolitan High School.
