The Dutch duo Telmo Miel was recently in Norway where they painted ‘No Matter the Wreckage’, a beautiful mural in Refvik or Refvika, a village in Vågsøy Municipality in the Sogn og Fjordane county.

Painted in the heart of this beautiful town that has endured a lot of disasters in the past. Wildfires, Storms, Nazi Invasions and Shipwrecks are part of their history. But one of the biggest disasters that hit the village, was a fire in 1872 that burn down the village to the ground, after two boys played with matches in a loop and lost control over the fire.
According to some stories, this chain of disasters started back in the days when a Captain cursed this town after his Ship went down in front of the coast. They still have pieces of the wreckage in Refvik as a reminder of the days that used to be.

TELMO MIEL
The Rotterdam-based Dutch duo TelmoMiel, composed of the artists Telmo Pieper and Miel Krutzmann, define themselves as muralists and creators of contemporary art.
In 20017 Telmo, a licensed illustrator and designer, met Miel, who was already active in the graffiti scene, but it wasn’t until 2012 that they started collaborating, after both had completed the their degrees at the Academy of Art.
The two artists work with a photo-realistic style that focuses on contrasts. They work ideas separately, later combining both sketches and giving shape to surrealistic compositions with great attention to detail. They are also so into each others work that when working on a piece together, they are able to switch places when ever wanted or needed.
