The Greek duo Blaqk, consisting of Greg Papagrigoriou and Chris Tzaferos  aka Simek, were recently in Bochum, Germany where they painted a new a stunning mural installation for the Adhoc room.

The new site specific installation is part of a bigger project organised by Adhoc and that has count with the participation of numerous artists, some graphic in essence, some conceptual. The Greek duo’s contribution is graphic in nature and consists on a wide black ‘brushstroke’ that covers the three walls of the white-painted exhibition space. The ‘brushstroke’ has been activated by a curve at the beginning of the piece, one at the end and the visualization of the tactile properties of the brush on the end wall.
As in the rest of their pieces, the composition adapts to the spaces they are painted on, creating an interesting interplay of black and geometric volumes contrasted with rough, but controlled ‘brushstrokes’. Here are some images of the work.
