Here are some images of one of the murals the Dutch duo Telmo Miel painted during this summer in France for ‘Street Art Avenue Grand Paris’, a project in the outskirts of Paris intended to create a street gallery with murals located next to ‘Canal Saint-Denis’.

The duo was asked to paint something related to ‘water’ since the gallery can best be seeing from the water side.

This is how they created this amazing collage of images and shapes called ‘Like giving flowers to a fish’, an ‘abstractified’ portrait with recognisable parts that needed to be clear in order to make sense.According to the artists, some of the images that needed to be clear are the fish and the face of the woman holding wet flowers as she tries to offer them to the fish though has no need or purpose for it.
When talking about their work, Telmo Miel says:
“Comparable to a street painter giving color to an area where the inhabitants usually didn’t even ask for it. Paintings we make aren’t loved by all, and some don’t see the need. This of course is understandable, 
it’s nothing more then logical. Though we still hope that with all the efforts we make to bring color in grey areas, even those people will eventually feel the positive influence that a bit of color has.”
Certainly a great and beautiful piece with an intricate meaning. And as a viewer put it: ‘I don’t understand it, but i still enjoy it!’

TELMO MIEL
The Rotterdam-based Dutch duo Telmo Miel, composed of the artists Telmo Pieper and Miel Krutzmann, define themselves as muralists and creators of contemporary art.
 In 20017 Telmo, a licensed illustrator and designer, met Miel, who was already active in the graffiti scene, but it wasn’t until 2012 that they started collaborating, after both had completed the their degrees at the Academy of Art.
 The two artists work with a photo-realistic style that focuses on contrasts. They work ideas separately, later combining both sketches and giving shape to surrealistic compositions with great attention to detail. They are also so into each others work that when working on a piece together, they are able to switch places when ever wanted or needed.
