Curated by Blind Walls Gallery and supported by the Municipality of Breda, Netherlands the new piece by the Italian artist brothers. Marco and Andrea Mangione, aka Gummy Gue, covers the entire surface of a playground in Odilia van Salmstraat, in the Gerardus Macella neighbourhood in Breda.

Titled Orbital, the piece is a large mural painted on the floor surrounding a football field dedicated to the football player Hein van Gasten. The work took moths and could only be finished in late May.

As in the rest of the duo’s work there is always a desire to find a meeting point with the surrounding structures where they operate. Orbital developed through the search for proportional relationships with the irregular shape of the concrete perimeter and the field’s area.

In harmony with sports events, the piece is composed of a dynamic group of shapes that visually amplify the space of the playground, movement and what the artists call “gestural freedom”, all intended to arouse emotional involvement in those who cross the painted surface.
