It has been a few quiet weeks during the last time. The current events have affected all of us changing not only our lifestyles, but also the way we perceive the world and ourselves. Until a couple of weeks ago, there were still street artists painting out there being the Dutch duo Telmo Miel some of them.

Right before the city’s lockdown was implemented, they managed to finish a lovely wall in Roeselare, Belgium.

According to the duo, the project came together through extensive neighbourhood participation starting over a year ago. Together with the elderly of the rest home De Waterdam, the organisers debated style, artist and concept falling for Telmo and Miel.

The mural has been organised by Bjørn van Poucke curator of The Crystal Ship.

TELMO MIEL
The Rotterdam-based Dutch duo Telmo Miel, composed of the artists Telmo Pieper and Miel Krutzmann, define themselves as muralists and creators of contemporary art.
In 20017 Telmo, a licensed illustrator and designer, met Miel, who was already active in the graffiti scene, but it wasn’t until 2012 that they started collaborating, after both had completed the their degrees at the Academy of Art.
The two artists work with a photo-realistic style that focuses on contrasts. They work ideas separately, later combining both sketches and giving shape to surrealistic compositions with great attention to detail. They are also so into each others work that when working on a piece together, they are able to switch places when ever wanted or needed.
